Reach out by phone or through our website to book a property assessment or mitigation work. Here is exactly what happens next.
Reach us
Get in Touch
The fastest way to reach us is by phone at 303-565-7408. You can also reach out through this website. Tell us about your property, your location, and the work you want done, and we will take it from there.
The process
From First Call to Finished Job
- You contact us. We talk through your property, location, and the work you want. That might be just an assessment to take to your insurer, or the full mitigation to truly protect your property, which also gives you something to bring to your insurance company.
- We schedule the assessment. If you want to move forward, we book an on-site visit. We take photos, walk the property, and explain what is needed. The visit takes a few hours, and the written report is assembled within a few days.
- We do the work, if you choose. Timing is situational. Zone 1 only is quick. Zone 2 can take multiple days because of the added area. Zone 3 can take days or weeks depending on lot size. Mountain lots vary widely, so it is hard to say exactly until we see it. You do not need to be home, because all the work is outside.
Scheduling
When to Book
Wildfire clearing work can be done in spring, summer, and fall, any time there is no snow on the ground. Summer is our busiest season. Winter is generally not workable because of the heavy snow. If you are thinking about it, reaching out early in the season helps us get you scheduled.

FAQ
Questions, answered
What is the benefit of wildfire mitigation if it isn't cheap?
It is not a cheap service, but it is necessary. You are protecting your biggest assets: your family, your home, and the possessions inside it. That is the real reason people do this work. On top of that, when we document the work in an assessment report, you have proof for your insurer, which makes it much harder for them to drop your coverage in Colorado.
How does wildfire mitigation affect my home insurance in Colorado?
Insurers often will not insure mountain properties because they do not know the conditions of the land around the home. When you do the work and we provide a report to your insurer documenting exactly what has been done in each zone, the insurer can see the property is protected. Under Colorado's new insurance law, insurers must take a documented wildfire mitigation report into account when setting your rates, and having such a report also makes it harder for an insurer to drop your coverage.
What are the defensible space zones and which one matters most?
There are three zones based on distance from your home. Zone 1 is 0 to 5 feet from the structure and is the most important, because embers landing right next to the home start fires. Zone 2 is 5 to 20 feet and is pretty important, where we remove deadfall and ladder fuels. Zone 3 is further out and is more about protecting the property than the home itself. We work outward from the most critical area first.
How much does a wildfire assessment and clearing work cost?
A property assessment with photos and a report starts at $199 for a simple, easy-access structure and can rise to $999 for complex properties with multiple outbuildings or distant locations. For the actual work, Zone 1 clearing starts at $599. Clearing all of the defensible-space zones typically runs about $3,000 to $5,000 per acre, and can reach $7,000 to $8,000 when tree removal is needed. We do not have a fixed price list yet, so treat these as starting points and ranges.
Do I have to be home while the work is done?
No. All of the wildfire mitigation work is done outside around the structure, so you do not need to be home for us to complete it.
How long does the insurance report take to get back?
The on-site assessment itself takes a few hours, where we take photos and walk the property to explain what is needed. After that, it takes a few days to assemble the written report you can take to your insurer.
What time of year can wildfire mitigation be done in Colorado?
The clearing work can be done in spring, summer, and fall, any time there is no snow on the ground. Summer is our busiest season. Winter is generally not workable because of the heavy snow on the ground.
Which Colorado areas do you serve?
We serve the Front Range and foothill communities from Monument up to Loveland, including Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, and Woodland Park, along with mountain communities within the Denver area. We do not travel as far out as Gunnison.
